For Search Console queries and indexing checks
Search Console MCP (mcp-gsc)
By Amin Foroutan. Community project (MIT) by Amin Foroutan. Not made or supported by Google. The author also sells a separate hosted version, which we have not reviewed.
Google does not publish an official Search Console MCP that we could find, and this is the most established community option: actively maintained, with tools for period comparisons, page-level queries and batch URL inspection. Because it is community-maintained, treat it like any open-source tool you install: read what it does and use credentials you can revoke.

What it does
- Search analytics: top queries and pages, performance overview, period comparisons and filtered analysis by country, device, query or page.
- URL inspection for one page or batches of up to 10, plus indexing issue checks.
- Lists sitemaps with errors and warnings, and can submit or delete them.
Reads
Properties, queries, pages, clicks, impressions, CTR, position, URL inspection and sitemaps.
Makes changes: Limited
Can submit or delete sitemaps and, per the README, add or remove properties. Everything else reads.
Marketing tasks it helps with
Find pages losing clicks
Compare two periods and see which queries moved.
Try: “Compare my clicks this month with last month and list the pages that dropped most.”
Check why a page isn’t indexed
URL inspection shows crawl and index status.
Who it’s for
A good fit if
- SEOs who already work in Search Console daily.
- Site owners troubleshooting indexing.
Look elsewhere if
- You already pay for Ahrefs, which can read Search Console data through its hosted server. See Ahrefs MCP
- You want GA4 traffic and conversions. See Google Analytics MCP
Requirements and setup
- A Google Cloud project with the Search Console API enabled and an OAuth client or service account.
- Python tooling (the README uses uvx).
- Create a Google Cloud project and enable the Search Console API.
- Create an OAuth desktop client (or service account) and download the JSON.
- Add the server to your client configuration as shown in the README, then sign in on first use.
Step-by-step for each assistant: How to connect an MCP.
Limitations
- Community-maintained; Google doesn’t support it.
- Local install with Google Cloud credentials.
- Write actions on sitemaps and properties should be used deliberately.
